I've just replaced all the trim, seats, dash and carpeting of my once brown and beige interior to black. Surprisingly easy albeit time consuming.
Anyway ... the only thing left to tackle is the large rectangular trim panel underneath the sun roof hatch. Around the edges of the panel are around 12 (top of my head) plastic buttons that appear to be a push fit to hold the edges in place. Does anyone know for sure how these can be removed?
I thought I might gently prise them out using a modified trim removal tool - a flatter version of the type used to pop door panel fasteners. However, these are extremly tight and don't want to come out - even when 'walking' it out with the tool. I don't want to blunder on and break them in their holes as, albeit probably inexpensive to replace, I bet they're a sod to extract.
Any tips or tricks on this? I'm hoping to re-use them if possible - because I'm cheap.
