Just a reminder that Sunday 23rd is R10's 4th annual invitation meeting for classic and prestige sports car marques [:)][:)].

Details are available at http://www.crazyspeak.co.uk/pcgb/

We already have a number of members from R10 and neighbouring regions ensuring a good Porsche representation, and TVR, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Renault Alpine, etc are looking to give a good showing too. Please help me [8|] by letting me know you're planning to come - and whether you will be wanting to buy a BBQ meal. Donations to Keech Cottage more than welcome.

Starts 12.30pm, til around 5.00 pm.

Hi Mike,

Can you put myself and Angie down for two BBQ meals, we will be bringing two cars.
Hope the weather stays good.

Thanks everyone, we have about 50 cars booked in so far [:)], and 100+ for the BBQ - but only about 40 have pre-paid [8|]. I am speaking with the caterer tomorrow to see if we can get enough coverage, but I expect so. Please see me as soon as you arrive to secure your BBQ vouchers.

Should be a great day.

Great job on the organising Mike, top class day out. Great to see so many nice cars on site, even if I was in the beer tent all afternoon, chatting to people I hadn't seen in ages - or at least since Classic Le Mans!
Well done buddy,
JG [;)]

I didn't notice if there was anyone lining up those Ferrari's as they arrived, but I have to admit, they did a pretty fantastic job!!! I've seen many attempts at various Porsche meets to do the same thing - and it never seems to look as good as that. I think the Ferrari crowd put up a very good show - and the F40 was very deserving in being everyone's favourite!!!

An excellent day - and very well attended. Let's hope the charity did well out of it too.

Regards

Dave

I totally agree, it is a shame that the Porsche owners seemed unable to make neat lines - I doubt that the Ferrari drivers can see the front edge of their cars, but they appear to take pride in the presentation. If we do it next year, I might try to park by model, colour or age![8|]

For the record, the donations and raffle for Keech Cottage Children's Hospice in Luton raised £430 (after covering £50 of prizes) to date (......still hoping for more [8|]!). A good result [:)], but as ever, I can help but feel that some of our guests decided to make this a very cheap (free) day out [8D]! Given any comparable event would cost c£5-10 to enter I would have hoped for more, but hey-ho that's life I guess. Perhaps I should make it more commercial/exclusive and charge an entrance fee? Any thoughts?

Mike

Take £5 off people as they come through the gate. Considering how much we know the raffles made there must have been some very cheap afternoons as you say!

Pete
