[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] We will be having our annual static Porsche display at the Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation on Sunday, the 3rd of April, 2011. Once again we will have the 928 register joining us with as they did in 2009.

All Porsches will be on display in the paddock in front of the historic club house with an overflow in the car park immediately next to it and the day will be open to the general public. The museum opens at 10am and we request that display cars to be there around 9:30am. The 928s will be directed to a special display area, so please follow the instruction from the marshalls/volunteers on the day.

We will then have the opportunity to visit the museum and at around 12noon we will all be escorted to the historic banks in our Porsches for a photoshoot. The 928s will have a separate session as we will not be able to accommodate all the Porsches on the bank at once. This is weather dependent and can be moved earlier or later or cancelled but the museum marshalls will keep everyone informed.

We will all have lunch at the local cafeteria thereafter.

You do not need to ring me in advance, just turn up at the museum but would appreciate a note of interest here to help keep Brooklands updated with numbers they should be expecting. [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Just so that you can get your excuses in early, be aware that this date is also Mothering Sunday, or as most people know it, Mother's Day.

Hi Kish

Count us in - a 928 and a 964 (I've already let the 928 register know that I'm coming).

Rachel & Rob

We love Brooklands, so count us in too: Boxster S.

Which access do we use - across the bridge from MB World or from Brooklands Road on the other side of the site?

Martin & Joanna.

Will put in the diary, last time we were at Brooklands we were in an MG and did a few runs up the test hill (just missing the tea shop at the top)
Hopfully the new Boxster S would have been delivered by then, so we can bring that.

Mark

See you there Kish. Hope the weather is better than last year!!

Access for Porkers via the 'old' entrance off Brooklands Road

Other cars park by MB world

Lots have private email that they will be attending... the 928 gang will be having their annual UK gathering... Porsche Centre West Byfleet will be bringing some interesting Porsches...

As Mel reminded, please use the original 'old' Brooklands entrance.

Those with SatNav please follow the direction to post code KT13 0QN religiously! Entrance 2 - it will be sign posted for Campbell Gate

Here is the route you would take if approaching from M25 or A3:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=A3&daddr=Unknown+road&hl=en&geocode=FWEhDwMdqSP5_w%3BFTCaDwMd8PP4_w&gl=uk&mra=dme&mrsp=1&sz=17&sll=51.353298,-0.462413&sspn=0.00654,0.013078&ie=UTF8&ll=51.353157,-0.462831&spn=0.00654,0.013078&t=h&z=17

However tempting the signs are, ignore the signs to Brooklands Mercedes-Benz World or Brooklands Museum Visitor entrance (via Mercedes World)!

Looking forward to Sunday! See you all then...

Kish, a big thanks for organising the event at Brooklands. As usual, Brooklands is great value for money, considering they receive no government funding and have to raise money as a charity to preserve some the best history of motor racing in Britain today.

Rob and I had great fun and it was good to talk to so many 928 owners (what a friendly bunch you all are). As I'm in my first few months of 928 ownership, I (we) picked up a lot of tips and had a good look at all the cars present.

We'll try to catch you all again at Dunsfold.

If anyone's interested in a drive out on Sunday 7th August, take a look at the following link to the R23 Show and Shine at Arundel Castle. All Porsches are welcome, you don't have to be a PCGB member.
