Chaps,

Further to Colin's problem with juddering brakes, we have organised a two-man very informal day of 944 tinkering, in East London. (Colin is 944LIL on here.) On Sunday 4th January.

If you happen to be in the London area then, and fancy dropping by, PM* me for some more details ... anyone with a 944 is more than welcome to come along.

Oli.

* - PM me, but I don't intend to be looking at eMail much in the coming few days, so I may be a while replying!

Oli Very much looking forward to the 4th - added another item to my snagging list this morning - a wire on the rear strutt went up in a puff of smoke - looks like a bodge gone wrong as they are bare wires !! It would be great to be joined by others - if we get a "crowd", it would be good to have a morning of tinkering followed by an early afternoon shandy. Guys - its a fantastic opportunity to earn brownie points whilst doing car stuff - bring kids, wives, girlfriends (though probably best not both at the same time) to London for a day in the sales - then disappear for a few hours of cars and beers...

Colin, Looking forward to it as well ... anyone else up for the outing? Mrs zcacogp canm provide tea and coffee all morning, before we break open the namby-pambies in the afternoon ... Oli.

Oli Thought I'd bring this back to the top of the list - is anyone else joining us on Sunday - unless you've had a load of PMs it looks like its just us!! Can't believe Fen isn't putting the effort in [:D]

I would[:D], but we have a long-standing barbie invitation for the same day [&o]. I could blow it off, but it's SWMBO's family so that wouldn't be popular and as it's been 29 degrees here most of the week a barbie isn't exactly unappealing [;)]. As I think I might have said before it's a sod getting a taxi to take you south of the equator afterwards as well [:D][:D]. I also seem to have contracted man-flu yesterday [:'(][:(]

Ha! Fen, you're not the only one 'round here (or not, as the case may be!) with man-flu. Event now cancelled folks, but will happen sometime in the coming month or so. More details to be posted here nearer the time. (Colin, I had a PM from fastbus, in Essex, who was keen. But I also got your telephone message ... all fine, sorry to hear you are ailing, I will call you in the coming 24 hours or so. Thanks for letting me know; we'll find another suitable time.) Oli.

It was -7 last night apparently, might have to put the heating on [:D].

-7! [:(] I can barely remember what that feels like (we didn't get that low in Devon very often even when I was in the UK). I'm all but over the man-flu now which is just as well as I've been assembling the fluids required to change everything on the Jeep ahead of its first proper trip into the bush in a couple of weeks. It's quite a project when you have two separate diffs and effectively an extra gearbox on top of the engine and main transmission, and of course they all take a different fluid (even the diffs, though the front will be fine with friction modifier in it).

Oli Do you want to stick up a post for our re-scheduled day - it would be good to let any interested parties get the date in the diary. My man flu has been diagnosed as Bronchitis - so I'm feeling slightly less wimpy. [;)]

Colin, Good point - recheduled for Sunday 18th (fingers crossed for good weather!) Sorry to hear about the Bronchitis ... hope it impoves soon. 18th ... Anyone welcome. Drop me a PM if you want to come. It will be a day of tinkering with 944's ... so bring your 944! Oli.
