Following Breakfast at Goodwood we will then continues with a convoy drive through beautiful Sussex into Kent where we will spend the afternoon at Chapel Downs Vineyard but you are most welcomed to join us directly at the Vineyard.

Chapel Downs Vineyard one of the largest vineyards in all of England. A sit down a-la-carte lunch is provided, and it will be followed by guided tours of the vines, the wine presses and processes, and bottling facilities. The afternoon will be concluded with a special wine tasting and opportunity to buy any number of wines/wares from this unique English vineyard.

Discounted tickets have been arranged as:
£5.50 adults
£5 senior citizens
£2 children age 12-17
Under 12s are free

The ticket prices excludes lunch which will be payable by each member on an a-la-carte basis.

SPACE IS LIMITED, so you must RSVP ASAP to ensure you have secured a space. Please RSVP to R20@PORSCHECLUBGB.COM or call Adrien (07799645510) indicating the name of party and number of tickets required. Tickets are payable in advance.

I really hope as many as possible will be able to join this event. Chapel Downs Vineyard is a fantastic place to explore and learn about the craft and art of wine making, and will be a worthwhile destination following the beautiful drive from Goodwood.

More details on this event will be in the upcoming edition of Porsche Post, so please spread the word around if you know of people who do not read this forum.

Cheers,
Adrien

IMPORTANT NOTICE RE LUNCH

Chapel Down Vineyard advised me today that due to an exceptionally busy and overbooked Sunday with the kitchen at Chapel Down, lunching PCGB members need to choose in advance what their preferred lunch will be from a limited menu. Sadly, the regular a-la-carte menu will not be available due to the sheer volume of people who are expected to be eating at the vineyard bistro restaurant that day. The menu available is:

Starter
£ 5.75 Chicken liver pate with Red onion and blackberry relish

Main Course (choose one of the following)
£ 10.75 Chicken and ham pie with salad and new potatoes
£ 10.75 Beef and ham with salad and new potatoes
£ 11.50 Poached salmon salad with lemon Mayo and potatoes

Desert
£4.50 Apple pie

Tea/coffee/fully licensed bar

On behalf of Chapel Down, they apologise for not being able to offer the full a-la-carte menu. If members do not wish to eat from the above menu at the restaurant, there is also the option of being able to picnic on-site at the vineyard.

I would be grateful if lunching members can advise me what their preferred option is by this Wednesday. Please post here or PM/email me at R20@porscheclubgb.com.

Many thanks,
Adrien

SUGGESTED ITINERARY FROM GOODWOOD TO VINEYARD

Here's a suggested itinerary that allows for a refueling/comfort break at the Shell station in Uckfield...

http://tinyurl.com/kcvsz

There are a myriad of options/possible routes... all suggestions welcome!

It was a TomTom-frenetic 80mile convoy from the Goodwood B'fast Club to Tenterden, Kent to visit the Chapel Down Vineyard. My sincere apologies to Julian for somehow losing you along the way... I heard that you were last spotted going down the hill in an opposite direction somewhere near Uckfield! I tried calling your mobile, but sadly to no avail. Part of the convoy stopped through Hastings and the seaside promenade where we managed to blag a quick photo for posterity...

At least we did make it to Chapel Down in the end...[:D] And we were able to wash the long day down with a few discreet wine tasters[8D]. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a little more about the wine making process. Many thanks to everyone who made the trip out to Chapel Down... it was encouraging to see the enthusiasm of members both old and new!

Cheers -
Adrien

Yes, I await all the jokes about a lawyer who does not know his way and gets lost. My TomTom sent me on an unconducted tour of Kent and the M20 - quite why is a mysytery only known to the GPS system. Nevertheless I enjoyed the Goodwood breakfast.

I do know where the Ace cafe is and will do my best to be there on Saturday.

Hi Julian,
At least TomTom is consistent, as Adrien's one took us almost to Calais [;)]; I think you did good if you managed to remain in Kent :ROFLMAO: as we did a tour of SE England... LOL

Anyway, it was a fantastic day and I still can't believe the best wine is of the year when there is a drought - sunshine in a glass [8D]

Very good turnout as I think I counted some 25 cars leaving Porsche West London and then a Ferry of Porsches at Goodwood...

Summer BBQ at Ace Cafe this Saturday, see you all there! [8D]

Great pics, great day out, with some excellent driving (there and back!)
Thank you very much Adrien and Kish for organising it all.
