We have been invited to display our cars at the new Transport Museum in Glasgow on Sunday 28th Glasgow.

Meeting point will be 10am at McDonalds on Great Western Road for a 10.45pm departure. (aiming to arrive at museum for 11am)

Cars will be parked directly in front of the museum and they will cordon off the area to keep general public away from your pride and joy.

Free entry to museum is available to all , and they will provide complimentry tea for us.

We will be book lunch for 1.30pm somewhere close by so will need numbers that wish lunch in advance,

(I am unfortunately abroad at that point but Robin Mears will be your host for the day)

Post up if you are wishing to attend and confirm by email if you are wishing to attend club lunch s.j.laurie@btinternet.com

regards
Scott.

Hi all just to confirm the visit details which have changed slightly.....

I have been asked by the Museum that we be on site by 10.45 as the area the cars will be parked in is a pedestrian only area from 11.00. We will now leave MacDonald's at 10.30 so we can be in position by 11.00 so if you are going direct to the Museum please try to arrive by 10.45. We should have an urn of tea/coffee available to us in the Museum Boardroom also.

I have also been asked that we provide drip trays for any cars which may drop oil whilst parked so although I would think we won't have any issues here, do, if you think it necessary bring something to put under your car so the museum doesn't have to jet wash its nice new entrance!

We will line up the cars, I was thinking in Marque according to age i.e. 911, then Boxster then Cayman. We can the have a tea/Coffee in the Museum and wander round to see the exhibits.

We now have 14 cars!

Sorry to miss this (sounds like fun and I've been meaning to check out the museum), but I have a date with the Belgian Grand Prix on the telly. Priorities!

Never heard off video recording...if you come we promise not to tell you the results [:D]
Even Dougie is comming and he is a F1 die hard

We record TV programmes on computers now, Brian!

Nope, watching it live with lots of friends is the thing. Sorry. Hope it's a good day out for everyone else "¦

Put me and my usual co-driver down for a visit please.

I keep thinking that we are going to the Kelvin Hall.......don`t want to admit to turning up in Albert Drive !!!!!

A very good day out, thank you Robin for organising it.

Against my expectations I liked the museum building (I tend not to like Zaha Hadid's buildings) but was a bit baffled by the exhibits. The "transport" theme seems to have been used as licence to include anything and everything, I struggled to really find a proper theme to it all. Good excuse to visit something I would probably otherwise have missed, and have a good lunch with good folk. An easy traffic free run home was the cherry on the cake!

Thanks again. [;)]

Was an excellent day out nice turnout of cars 20. A bit cold standing around outside .I prefer the old set up things in one place .I agree with John a bit of a miss mash of exhibits but none the less a nice place to visit, just avoid a cold Sunday in Glasgow the place was packed .
A big thanks to Robin for putting it together and for organizing the lunch.

And here are a few pics of the tastiest transport there!

A good selection of cars were on display with a particularly nice 968 Sport in a very light blue colour. I spoke to a couple of members who were helpful and informative.

Cheers

John
