Sunroof Back Catches

Could you help with a 924/944 question?

My 86 944 electric sunroof mechanism passed away a while ago[&o] and I heard that the 924 sunroof is the same but manual?

If that`s correct I would like to source the catches at the rear internal side and any advice on fitting them.

The same but different. The manual roof requires a recess in the rear frame for each of the catches but never having seen the sunroof in an "S" I couldnt tell you if the recesses are there, under the arc boxes. The manual roof also had a retaining strap to limit how far to roof could be opened. What happened to your roof mechanism? If it is the later type the nylon gears can be replaced
 
Thanks for that, yes the nylon gears are gone, and there is an electrical fault, I liked a simplistic approach with manual catches. Thanks for the advice. And I`ll have a look on ebay. Sorry mine is a lux not an S, would that be the same as yours?
Anyone else here know about the feasibility?
