Sunroof - intermittent issue

Recently had an issue whereby some days my sunroof won't go up. Since this doesn't bother me particularly, I've just assumed it was something to do with the switch and figured I'll get around to it.
However, had a different behaviour today so it seems it's probably not the switch... I lowered the arms to remove the sunroof, and the first thing I noticed was that if I hold the switch down, the whirr of the motor continues indefinitely; pretty sure that was not always the case? Secondly, when then trying to raise the arms again, nothing happened... so although that's quite similar to what I already described above, I believe (from memory) the switch is operated the opposite way around for raising/lowering the arms.
So I don't know, given that this has been intermittent, if there are some connections I should be looking at, or a microswitch somewhere, or what... quite familiar with the 924 sunroof mechanism, but not this one.
Any thoughts?

My guess is rear micro switches lose

just read this again

if its over running then rear micro switch would be first thing to check, with roof down push the switch against the cam see if it clicks ... If it does then tighten in that position.
if the roof then operates to retract the arms but only raises to the closed position then I would suspect the main relay or the switch this can be tested by following the Clarkes guide, there is an error in this part of the guide it states there should be 12v at terminal A this is incorrect should be 0v

Thanks, the Clarks guide looks great.
Not 100% sure what is meant by rear microswitches though... is this referring to the Limit switches that are mentioned in the guide?
