Sunroof Oddity

Hi all. Have just finished refurbing my gear lever gaiter (which went very - will post some pics of the results for those interested in doing it) and whilst playing round with the sunroof switch I noticed that the sunroof arms don't retract for sunroof removal. This should be possible in ignition switch position 1. Now a couple of months ago I fitted a second hand sourced ignition switch, which operates fine. The only thing is IIRRC correctly when my old switch was switched to position 1 the radio switched on and you could operate the sunroof and nothing else. When I switch this one to position 1 the dash lights up all bar the turbo gauge. Position 2 the turbo gauge springs into life, which makes sense as it is fed from the DME. My questions is were there different specs for this type of ignition switch i.e. no sunroof of cab models and has anyone else had a similar experience? It seems to me that the arms won't retract because the sunroof thinks the ignition switch is in position 2. Does that make sense to anyone else? [&:]
