Hello everyone.

Have recently replaced my 98 Boxster 2.5 with a stunning 00 Carrera with the optional sunroof fitted and I am extremely happy, however I have noticed that while travelling on many of this country uneven roads there is a rattle that seems to be coming from the sunroof rails????

Does any one know of this problem and if it is an easy fix?

Thanks.

Welcome Damien!

There are 3 Technical Service Bulletins covering sunroof rattles, varying from easy to a pain in the ar*e. If you would like details, drop me an email.

Thanks Richard.

Can you be of any help with another tiny problem? The drivers door window squeals on hot days when open/closing? Had same issue with my Boxster just before I sold it.

Once again thanks for you help with such small niggles.

I find it helps to keep the seal along the top of the door clean and (rightly or wrongly) I wipe along the strip with some rubber lubricant on a cloth if it starts squeaking. I do the same with the door seal, as I find that the top edge of the window squeaks on the rubber if it is a hot day.

Richard. You mention the rubber seals on the windows in your last post. Every time I put the windows down on my 996 the rubber strip at the bottom gets caught by the window and dragged under the door frame lip. Would some of this Rubber lube solve this? If so, whats the best stuff to use and where can you get it from? Bit worried that the strain caused on the window mechanism might damage it eventually. Thanks

Thanks Richard. Off to Halfords then! However, not a problem at the moment with the ammount of rain we are having! Cheers.
