Sunroof rear catches help

Hi, when I bought my 944 the roof was sealed shut. I investigated and the inner seal was perished which I have now replaced and the rear catches were missing.

I bought a cheap sunroof off ebay for the catches but although they fit on the roof they foul with the headlining (as this seems to be offset against the gap where the catch screws into the roof) and when I clip them down they rebound as it pulls the roof down too far. I suspect I have an electric sunroof model but I have manual sunroof catches, is this correct?

As my electric roof doenst work (although I can hear th motor working on open and close) im happy to just clip it shut, stop it leaking and use it as a manual sunroof and remove when needed.

Is, this possible, ie if I buy the correct latches will they work as a purely manual open and close?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tim

btw help sourcing the correct catches would be appreciated.

I'm confused, there are two catches at the front but the rear has two arms. They are operated by plastic gears designed to fail rather than the motor, and are a few pounds from a Porsche Centre or a lot more on e-bay. These arms raise into the sunroof and pull it shut.

Hi, hope this clears it up. Bad pictures sorry.

This is what I have on the body of the car where the back edge of the sunroof joins.

This is what the sunroof was like when I bought it.

These are the clips that I bought on the cheap sunroof.

Oh and I have a pair of these.

Do the rear arms come out then and sit in these plastic housings, because at the moment they are as far back as they could be.

Cheers
Tim
