sunroof weight?

I didn't realise it was so much !

Nearly all the 964's I have been looking at have a sunroof. My plan is to strip as much weight as possible from any 964 I buy so it looks like I need to try & find a car without a sunroof.

presumably most of the weight re a sun roof comes from the motor? If so couldn't you just take that out - i remember a discussion with a porsche mechanic who was stripping as much weight as possible from his 964 and this was his intended course of action. I think (but may be wrong!) that you can access it via the zip that runs across the roof lining by the rear window....

James, how much weight do you reckon you could lose from the whole car? I went partly along this route with my 944 and it makes quite a difference to your performance.

When I find the 'right' 964 & start stripping it, it will be very interesting to see how much weight I can loose [:D] My goal will is to bring it down to RS levels & lower, so that means loosing at least 100kgs I think.

I'll be posting the details on here as it happens [:)]
