sunroof wind deflector

Closing the sunroof on my car a while back the wind deflector did not fold down properly when the sunroof approached. Looking at the little plastic 'arm' that holds the deflector up I found the loop at the top was broken and hence not properly attached to the deflector. The other side was OK but did find the 'hinge' looked suspect too.

Found the part numbers on PET and checked the prices online.....both less than £3 each. Needed a DME relay so ordered these at the same time from my local OPC.

As a bonus found the parts came in pairs so even better value. Replaced all the old parts with new ones just because I could. Easy to fit, just need a cross head screw driver and about 5-10 mins.

For info, parts numbers were -
911.564.127.00 (hinges)
911.564.123.00 (arms)

These dont come in pairs, the price is for one piece. Check your invoice, if you have only been charged for one and have received 2 the parts man fecked up!

Quantity on invoice is 1 for both parts............if the warehouse pickers in Reading decided to put 2 of each into the bags instead of 1, then many thanks to them.

I believe the 3.2 sunroof is very similar to the 964, I had to replace an arm a couple of years ago for the same reason, and a friend with an '88 had to do theirs as well! If they are the same quality as the originals we should be safe for a further 20 years. I haven't noticed any problem with the hinge, but now I've mentioned it...
