My sunroof tilts up but when I close the roof and click the switch the other way to release the roof for removal nothing happens.Has anybody else had the same problem?[8|]
Thanks
Alan

I might be wrong but I think you remove the roof by tilting it up first and then releasing the front and lifting it out.

You are supposed to switch the ignition to position 1 and then press the 'UP' side of the sunroof switch. In position 1 this will make the ars go DOWN in to the roof. You then unlatch the front catches and lift it out.

To refit it properly press the 'DOWN' side of the switch (when in ignition poistion 1) and the arms will go UP to re-engage the sunroof

Before mine stopped working I would 1.release the front catches2.put ignition onto first click3.press roof switch which would then release the roof from its rear catches. Now it only works on the tilt mechanism with the ignition on.There are no motor noises or anything.

On mine, I just press the down button until I see the gear fully retract then I release the catches and lift the roof out (rear side first)

It sounds like both of you have misaligned microswitches that control the sunroof mechanism.

If you want to spend many happy hours [8|] adjusting them to how they should be then there is a very comprehensive guide in the 'garage shop manual' section of www.clarks-garage.com

With the ignition switch in position one can you hear the motor whirring when you press the rocker switch? If you can then the arms are disenging / engaging. You won't notice anytthing happenning to the roof panel itself.
Took me ages to work out how to remove the panel.
One tip for you if you do drive with the roof out, have the windows down about an inch to relieve the air pressure otherwise you could end up with a splitting headache.
Cheers,

I guess it might be right, but I have learned to live with the way it is so for now I'll leave them alone. I also find it less than rewarding to take the roof out. Generally I do it because I can, rather than for any increase in the pleasure of driving.[:)]

With the ignition in position 1 and pressing the switch there is no whiring sound, however when it worked properly in the summer did have the whiring sound.[8|]

The Clarks website is certainly usefull.I have checked the relays in the rear by the sunroof motor and they were ok,I then checked the relay under the bonnet and found a strange thing happening....Take the fusebox cover off and the roof works but when I put the cover back on..still works until I use the fusecover spring clips to fasten the cover down then stops working!!I have swopped the relay over so I know it isnt that,I think it is probably a connection fault within the relay board[8|]
