If you're talking about the metal curved lifter then its likely your gear wheels are worn out. you'll need to remove the rear cover panel, under there you'll find the covers, unscrew the one where the raising bar has come out and see what kind of condition the plastic gears are in

As with many things there is a guide to pre and post 1985 sunroofs on [link=http://www.clarks-garage.com]www.clarks-garage.com[/link]

one of the thingys that lifts up has kinda come off.

what's the common problem/solution, and is there a how to guide anywhere?

ta. :)

ORIGINAL: pauljmcnulty Cogs are only a few £s from Porsche. A lot more expensive on e-bay. [;)]
and buy two pairs (you'll probably strip the cogs on the first pair while setting it up :ROFLMAO: )

Sunroof parts prices from OPC Gear wheel 944.564.430.01 £3.97 + vat Lifting arm 944.564.501.01 £7.62 + vat Lifting arm 944.564.502.01 £7.62 + vat Sunroof bearing bracket (the little triangular piece that screws to the hinges and is normally cracked) 477.871.219 £1.24 + vat All can be found for much more on ebay and elsewhere. I recently bought a new 944 badge for my rear panel £7 from OPC, regularly advertised for £22 on ebay which makes the porscheshop look cheap at £16.
