Super Unleaded

Hi
New to Porsche ownership (and this club) and the proud owner of a 991.1 GTS
my question - Is it best to run on Super Unleaded fuel (higher Octane) ?

thanks

I always try to use super unleaded where possible but it won't cause any issues if you decide to run on normal unleaded.

On the road I'm not sure if you would notice any real difference but for track days you probably want max bhp so super unleaded every time. I do sometimes think I should try a few tank fulls of ordinary unleaded to see if I can notice any different but invariably fill up with super unleaded!

YEs in a word
the car will cope by retarding ignition I believe ,if you put only 95 octane
but you won’t get the maximum performance out of your supercar
personally I can’t see the point in saving a few quid on petrol when I’ve paid near £100k for the car!!!
all the best

thanks for you thoughts it's nothing to do with pump price,I was just curious if it's better for the car with the additives in it etc.

I will be using high octane for sure next fill up !

the sound of the 3.8l is amazing !

thanks

Kevin, if you put "super unleaded" into the search box you will get a whole host of threads on the topic. As per the label in the filler flap mine has never seen anything other than 98 octsne or higher ( apart from the very rare excursion into 97 territory at BP![:D])
