<Boggle!> I never use anything other than V-Power in any of my cars. Using anything less means that the ECU will retard the ignition to cope and you loose power.

i have a 2002 996 targa and usually run on standard 2* unleaded (95 ron)

i was only able to buy super u/l (98 ron) this weekend

i remeber that porsceh said occassional use was no prob

anyway i deiniely noticed a higher mpg (on a 300 mile regular roundtrip)

can i always use super ?

do i need a tuning adjustment to get the best from it ?

if so can i go back to ordinary without problems if cant get super ?

thanks

whilst the opc guys say you CAN use 95RON they mean only that the car will run ok on it-as mentioned previously,it will NOT preform at the level it was engineered for.shell vmax is the only thing that goes in my baby[:D]unless i am desperate and cant find any in which case the closest i can get to it

There's an internet acronym for this. [;)] [;)]

Noticed on the BBC news last night various shots of Shell stations with some pumps out of fuel....but good to see in every case they still had a stock of VPower left[:D][:D][:D]

thanks guys - maybe i misunderstood and that porsceh must have actually said use super but standard is ok rather than the other way round ill switch to super - the extra cost offset by higher mpg

I believe this stuff is 110RON, and at about 12p a litre is quite an interesting concept: [link=http://www.efuel100.com/default.aspx]http://www.efuel100.com/default.aspx[/link]

Am guessing clubcard points... every little helps! Have to say I decided some time ago to boycott Tescos (not sure they've noticed) until they come clean and change their logo to "we control every single aspect of your entire life". I do wonder what small business is safe from their predatory behaviour [8|]

2 aspects to "extras"-clubpoints is one .contaminants is another!![:D] i fill up linda`s bmw at tesco(and it does more mpg!!) but its only shell v power for the porsche

The strike at Shell was good - when I went there at the weekend for another V-power fill, they only had V-power left, so the garage was empty. No queueing, no waiting at the cash desk.

Very interested to know about the contaminants. Are these added due to using the same hoses from the tanker or the 'one-off' filled the wrong tank issue?

"thousands of motorists have been left with repair bills of more than £1000 after their cars were contaminated by a rogue batch of fuel, believed to be from supermarket chains. Initial reports suggest that Tesco outlets are amongst the possible sources for the dirty fuel, although it denies having found anything amiss" copied from what car report[:D](28/02/07)
