Given the choice (money no object) would you have a Supercharger or a Turbocharger fitted to your 928 ??

You can vote for 1 choice only.

All the best Brett :)

Interesting.
Why such a high vote for supercharging ? Is not the turbo a better bet for max poke ?
OK I know I am biased, but to me it is a no-brainer.

Hi John :)

Ever looked under a 928 bonnet ??? Its FULL of a huge V8 so not much room for a turbo,,,,,also a V8 has 2 exhaust manifolds....so which one do you run the turbo from ?? etc..

All the best Brett :)

You would have twin Turbos I would have thought, no room for them under there though, thats why the superchargers are favourite amongst 928 tuners.

OK guys, I stand corrected.
Quite amazed at the huge power possible with a blower on the 928 engine. But are those USA cars reliable?

Hi John [:)]

The Americans think nothing of putting a blower on a 928 with over 200,000 miles on it and they are STILL reliable afterwards...[:D]

All the best Brett :)

For the original question, regardless of the space I would have thought the supercharger was more in keeping with the style and intent of the car.
Fuel consumption is interesting, but you don't get owt for nowt. A turbo would be more economical though.

Theres a Twin Turbo S4 been running about in Florida for years ,owned by ex.Porsche factory employee, maybe even built at the factory(experimental, like the 6.0ltr vario cam engine experiments).
Puts out a reported MONSTER 700BHP.
2 guys in the USA are both developing TT kits for the 928, so you willsoon be able to buy a kit.
