Superchargers

I can feel the need for more power, not chip type power but more power.... I have done some research on superchargers for the 3.2 carrera (mine's a G50 Targa 1987 with 50,000 genuine miles etc) and chased a second hand one in Porsche Post, but am not getting far.
The original 3.2 Supercharger was made by a company called Paxton, I am having trouble finding a supplier for the kit (I am told there is little demand these days) I have tried to find a company called Knocksville Superchargres in the USA but gather they are no longer in business. I have also chatted to Ninemeister, very helpful but only deal with 964 and on.
Does anyone know if there are any companies who still offer a kit for the 3.2 or does anyone have a secondhand kit for sale?
Niniemeister suggested fitting a 993 motor, but I would rather go the supercharger route or trade the car for a turbo.
Look forward to your replies.
Thanks
Mike

There are at least a couple of Supercharged 3.2s floating around in the UK. I think one is hillclimbing.

No doubt there is some info on the Pelican BBS which will also be of help - hint: you should do a search. This comes up all the time on Pelican.

Also, look for "Superchargers of Knoxville" (as in Tennessee) - you may have more luck. I am not aware of them going out of business. I know that Autofarm have used SoK kits in the past, so they are worth a try.

You should also consider that a Euro 3.2 is not ideally suited to Supercharging due to its higher coompression ratio than US motors. You would need to be conservative with boost pressure.

Have you thought of other options? 9M (and others) will do a MOTEC management system producing 270hp and costing circa £5k. This along with a little judicious weight reduction gets you close to the same result. I think you could get 300hp if you went to throttle bodies and cams together with MOTEC. I would also seriously look at other ECU options like HALTECH (don't know who wells them - maybe Bob Watson) or Magnetti Marelli (try Neil Bainbridge). The options are endless, it just depends on the size of your wallet. The higher the horsepower goal, the more cubic the dollars become.

Before I read the last (third) posting on this topic, I was actually going to say email me, but someone has beaten me to it !

At least I can give you the pros and cons (and there are some cons), and, if you live anywhere near here, can let you see it etc.

Thanks for your comments so far gents. I have found information on Knoxville now that I am using the correct spelling, but as yet no web site.

As/when I progress I will add posts

Still welcome more useful info

Thanks

Mike

Looking on the Tech9 wesbite it seems that they offer supercharging for the 3.2.

Have a look at the link below - you will need to scroll right down to the bottom of the page for the detail on package etc
