Supersport Cab Production Numbers

Guest

New member

Hello all.
I'm new to the group so I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I did search the archives and cannot seem to get an answer.
I have owned my 1989 911 Supersport Cabriolet for nearly five years now but I was wondering how many were produced for the UK market in that particular year. It believe it was also ordered through the 'Exclusive' program with option XB7 (vented rear wings a la Turbo LE). Did PCGB ever keep a record of cars which were ordered with that particular option, or am I asking for too much?
I have only ever seen one other Supersport cab with vented rear wheel arches and that one was black with can can leather (mine is black with black leather)
Any help or guidance on finding out this information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Ed Turner

Hi Ed,
I too have an 89 SSE Cabriolet and have done a lot of research as to production numbers. My info came from Tony Corlett (reg sec) and even resulted in me buying his excellent book on the 911.There seems to be no record kept by Porsche of SSE Chassis numbers specifically, except in the USA. It is only the option number 491 which tells you it was the factory production not an aftermarket conversion. I do have a great deal more info if you would like to contact me about chassis numbers (I just need the last 4 digits) as I know my car was one of the last 50 cabs made and we can compare. E mail me at simon@cmb-uk.co.uk with your tel number and best time to ring as I'm sure its best not to publish contact details on the forum
Cheers
Simon
