A group from 911uk are considering a Superstoc Racing Day at Northampton Stadium, so here is Wattie's post...

OK, so there seems to be some interest in this so (while I wait for full details to come through) who would be up for this?
I think cost is around £150 per person if we book as individuals, but I am trying to get a price for the whole event...

Day consists of:
am.
Qualifying heats for the afternoon finals in genuine Formula 2 race prepared stock cars (6 cars per heat) - no rev/speed limits, gentle contact met with blind eyes usually

When not qualifying:
The Del-Boy challenge: Supposed to be fastest time around a course in a Reliant 3-wheeler van, but in practice most people forget about the time and try and tip it over

(it does have a full cage, and you're in a full harness, so why not?

)

The Professionals: Kind of like rallycross in a stripped out Capri

Blind Nag Drag: driving blindfolded while trying to keep a ball in a bowl on the bonnet under passenger directions! (Think I remember the car had reversed steering as well?)

Then in the afternoon:
The big finals - there is a printed race program and you sometimes even get paying spectators (there were about 20 when I went!)
Followed by prize-giving - with trophies for all the winners of the individual finals, and then the winner of the grand final (winners of each final)

Altogether a brilliant day out, especially as no rev./speed limits and prizes for the quickest on the day

OK guys... I have provisionally booked Northampton Stadium for a Superstox day on Saturday 23rd Feb for a Porsche 911UK fun day out...

Just need to get some names down now!
Cost will be less than £150 per head if we can get at least 25 people to attend and that includes:
  • At least two proper races in Formula 2 stock cars - 3 races if you get in the Superfinal!
(no rev. limits and you can overtake anywhere / anyhow)
    The 'Del-boy' challenge
    The professionals
    The nag drag challenge
    Trophies (if you win stuff)
    Your name in a program
    Lots of lunch
The best laugh you've had on wheels in your life!
