Suspect Wheel bearings

Guest

Last weekend I did over 1000 miles and noted a droaning sound coming from the drivers side rear wheel when cornering to the left, especially at higher speeds. I suspect this is a dodgy wheel bearing and the past week it has become slightly lounder and almost sounds as if the rear breaks are rubbing when turning to both the left and right now, does this sound like a rear wheel bearing on its way out?

Any idea how much it should cost to get both of them replaced?

Anywhere recomended to get the work done around Aberdeen as thats where im living for the next month or so?

Cheers

Dave

It does sound like a bearing from the way you describe it but it could be something else. What tyres do you use? I had Avon ZZR's or something on my Turbo when I bought it and they made it sound exactly like it needed a wheel bearing.

I have P-zero's all round. I have had the car 6 month now and never noticed the noise before, definately getting worse!! :-(

If it is the bearing there may be play in the wheel (jack in up and wiggle in horizontal and vertical directions).
As for garages, Pitstop off of George Street know there way around 944s.
