Suspension Geometry Service

I have just had my 993 C4 setup by Chris at Center Gravity and am really impressed by the improvement. I had assumed that the "twitchyness" was just down to the Porsche chassis, but it doesn't have to be. Chris spent all day tweaking the alignment and the service he offers allows you to choose how you want the car to behave. The bonus is, that they will come out (even to Milton Keynes!) as the rig is completely mobile or you can go to them (I believe).
Chris really seems to know his Porches and I appreciated the regular updates and explainations throughout the day
The car does not follow road cambers or tramlines under power as it did before
Well worth a call or e-mail www.centergravity.co.uk and yes, he does spell Centre "Center".......

Chris will do a full inspection and report for around £74.00 and to completely rest the car is around £175 - £200 depending on time. Travel is extra based on mileage. You get a "before & after" report which is very comprehensive
As far as I know, they are one of the few people than can set the Kinematic Toe properly

I saw from the website that they are based in Atherstone, Warwickshire. Not far from me at all. I'll definitely pay them a visit when I need some alignment work.

Another big thumbs up for Chris - he sorted the suspension out on my S2000 and has a sterling reputation on the S2000 owner's forum for his extraordinary enthusiasm and his willingness to go the extra mile.

He's a Porker driver himself and looks after a few 993 Register owners' cars, I think.

Well, there are quite a few specialists with one or other Kine tool. Chris does not have the factory tool, but an american clone of the Porsche Motorsport one, which measures the inclination of the brake caliper. The original 993 tool(s) measured the difference in angle between the two rear control arms, aiming for a small difference.

The Autometrics or Porsche Motorsport tool is usually set equal side to side, but my concern is .. which side represents the minimum difference between the control arms .. ? I feel there should be an absolute value reading to aim for with these tools .. but hey, who am I to question .. [:-][8D][&:][8|]

cheers, Maurice [:D]

This is the Motorsport tool that Chris uses

Forgive my ignorance, but what can these guys do that my OPC can't?

I think the short answer to that is that they will leave a considerable wedge IN your wallet rather than in their till!!!

actually its the Autometrics one ...

Yep - sorry - meant to say Motorsport copy

With the specific subject of 993 alignment, the most important factor is considerable 993 experience with the correct tools ... [8|]

Which is where most specialists win out over OPC's with regard to 993's...[;)]

Chris has set up both my 993 and my 2.4S and I can only speak most highly of this work and the cost most reasonably
