Suspension mount

I've had a 'knocking' for a few weeks now, and as it's got a bit warmer (and lighter!) thought I would have a look underneath. I was expecting to diagnose a worn ball-joint or bushes. Couldn't believe what I found though... Both bolts at rear of drivers' side wishbone both loose, could even undo them with my fingers! I reckon everyone should check theirs ASAP. Trev

Whoah there! That's not good. Well spotted, and thanks for the heads-up.

While you are in there, spend a bit of money and swap the mounts for the (later) 968 ones. More metal, less rubber, and MUCH better to drive as a direct result. (I didn't *quite* believe the hype around changing the mounts until I did it on mine in a fit of affluence about a month ago. It's all true - it is WELL worth while.)

Will have a look into them (cost, where from??). Back to the bolts... Can't believe they did not fall out completly - they were SO loose! As you can see from the pcture, there are no markings on the heads to sugest they have been tampered with in recent times.

The mounts are circa £40 a side from the OPC and really do make a heck of a difference in planting the front end steering (compared with the 20 year old thicker rubber ones you have).

Very odd they should suddenly work themselves loose, maybe you hit a large pothole and it 'encouraged' them [&:]

I paid £55 a side, including VAT but excluding delivery, from Max at Frazerpart. They were the cheapest I could find.

Tsk! Mods, eh? Can't run a site with them, can't run a site without them!
