I'd like to replace the springs & dampers on my '94 C2. Can anyone suggest the best combination which would not lead to a reduced ride height or stiffer ride? I'm not very keen on Monroes as these seem to have a comparatively short lifespan from what I've read.

Currently the car has "standard" factory setup & 103,000 miles on the clock.

Many thanks!

Whole heartedly recommend Bilstein HDs. The ride height will be about the same if you use the regular HDs (rather than those with extra thread). Ride is supple, not harsh and perfectly OK for every day use (I use mine for work daily) and you'll certainly notice an improvement all round if your friend is replacing the original Monroes!

I fitted HDs and M030 springs/arbs last month to my 96 Carrera 2 last month and am very happy.
Height setting is quite free within the ranges for each type "chassis" setup with the bottom end of the "normal" range running into the top of "sport". I would say select on your view of what looks best - I can't feel much difference with changes of about 20mm - but be sure to keep the rake correct.

You're welcome to come and look at and experience mine if it helps - In Liverpool struggling to find rear PZero Rossos at the moment.

Another vote for Bilstein HDs. Stick with the original spings if you want to preserve ride quality.
