Suspension sorted, well, nearly!

New springs on, everything cleaned, bearings sorted, ride height good!

30mm springs from PorscheShop dropped the car about 25mm from where I was, so exactly what I wanted :) Car seems to be sat even now, aprox 22mm clearance from the height of the centre of the tyre to the edge of the arch in the centre down from mid 40's.

Only one small issue, since fitting these springs I have a squeek on the front drivers, what a pain in the arse. I've taken it apart twice, seems to be coming from the top of the mount near the bump stop, but only the drivers side is affected. When I sorted the bearings out, I cleaned all the rubber mounts with soapy water to get the gunk off, thinking this one got a little dried out. Took it to a friends garage and got it up in the air and lubed it all up, so fingers crossed this will sort it after a few miles.

Ride quality seems to have improved - not as harsh in a straight line on normal roads as the stock set up. Around corners it rolls a little then settles and seems to dig in.

Spacers next and then I'll be getting the geo checked, fingers crossed!

Roll on delivery of my PU GT3 front bumper :) Can't wait to get that sprayed and fitted, along with the spacers it should be coming together nicely [:)] Pics will follow.....

Cheers,

Steve

Woot, after hours on a ramp yesterday not being able to figure out the noise, I put the car on a jack in the garage 5 mins ago and re-created it. Where I took the dust cover and bumpstop off and washed it with soapy water it dried out the rubber inside. Turns out the silicone grease wasn't doing the job, as after applying it, it didn't like the shiney surface, I could create a squeek just by rubbing the inside of the bumpstop on the shaft anywhere. Cleaned it all off and treated with high pressure grease and voila, silent suspension :DDDDDD
