swap electric windows for manual?

Has anybody done this?

I'd like to swap my door cards with RS versions and get rid of the broken door bin problem once and for all.
Whilst I'm at it I'd love to fit manual window winders as I never trust electric windows on older cars (having come unstuck a number of times, leaving me to drive big distances in the pouring rain with an open window.). Although I should say this hasn't happened in the 964.(yet)

Has anybody done this? Is it expensive? Who did it for you?

Any advice gratefully received.

Id be interested in doing this too, as I have one dead electric window at the moment, and I have been similarly caught out in the past..

Ive had the drivers door to bits, and it doesnt look like too much of a task to either replace the electric mechanism or fit windy-windows, but finding the bits will prob be the biggest headache (the door-cards in particular)

There appears to be a manual over-ride on the electric windows, so Im thinking maybe the manual ones were the same mechanism but without the motor/with a handle.. I will check out the PET over the weekend and see what I can find out; if this is the case then its double easy once you have got hold of the door cards and pull tab openers
