Swing arm bush replacement.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone taken on the job of replacing the swing arm bushes?I have viewed the pictures many times on the pelican parts web forum and have decided to take on the challenge.I have already taken the spring plates off and cut the old well worn bushes off.The concentric bolts were totally seised on and needed to be heated up,otherwise a quick clean up and off to be re-zinc plated. This means i have time on my hands to take the swing arm bolts out,but and it's a big but i don't fancy these bolts shearing off. This means that the transmission then having to come out.Has anyone had experience of this job being able to point out any problems.
I have also upgraded the dampers to bilsteins and brakelines to the braded type so i look forward to some handling and braking improvements.

The following thread may be of some interest in respect of the bushes - I believe they are available for 3.2s

Hi guys,
Thanks for your quick responce, you know how it is with an involved job like this any thing thats likely to cause a problem usually does and it's nice to be able to share information. The main reason why i undertook this job on was when i took the car around silverstone it just didn't feel as firmly planted as it should. The removal of the spring plates revealled a lot with the bushes shoulders rounded off exactly the same as the illustration on pelican parts forum.I have to admit i have not as yet taken any photo's,i should really because the work i have done so far looks quite impressive. The springplates should be back friday, they should look like new and with the neatrix bushes make the re-alignment more acurate.
The main point here is if you like me enjoy a spirited drive occasionally, then spare a thought if your car is approaching the magic 100k miles get the springplate bushes looked at you might be surprised at the condition.I have gone all the way with new dampers as well, the fact it all has to be set up i can get done in one.The origional dampers would have passed the M.O.T but the re- bound of them was non existant.Looking at these cars as with a lot of classics is that the depreciation is negligable but sometimes the upkeep can be an eye opener.
