Sywell Historic Airshow - 24 September

Just a reminder that next Sunday, 24th September, Sywell aerodrome is hosting an historic air display in aid of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. The day includes flying displays of historic aircraft, wingwalkers, and static displays "" all in an atmosphere of the 1930/40's.

We were invited to put on a "trade stand" but, to allow our members more opportunity to relax and enjoy the show, the organisers have agreed that we can park in the classic car and historic vehicle section rather than a formal Porsche display. For this to work, members will need to pre-purchase their tickets via http://www.sywellairshow.co.uk/tickets.php or phone 01604 491112 (select "option 4"), mention you will be coming in a Porsche - then hopefully, we will get the dedicated parking area I have requested. Tickets are £10 (children £5) in advance, £12 (children £6) on the gate. The web site has other information on the day's events.

Here's hoping for great weather [:)].

Let me know if you're planning to go.

Hi Mike,

Looking at long range forecast it looks promising.. Count Anthea and me in and we will be in the Porsche (newly washed) and not the Merc' honest!

Cheers

Dave

All,

I see that Sywell are no longer accepting on-line ticket booking.. Only over the 'phone or at the gate.

Cheers

Dave

They don't hang about.

Called for my tickets on Wednesday at 3pm, came through my letterbox on Thursday at 8am

I like the sexy silver wrist bands myself... and the green windscreen sticker. And you're right, they came through in a flash.

Guys

An apology. Having publicised this I now find that we (Kim, Joel and I) may need to get away before the airshow finishes [&o] (though I doubt Joel would share the dissapointment as otherwise it will be a long day for him [8|]). Disappointingly, it appears that if I go into the display area as originally intended by the organisers, I will not be able to leave until at least 5pm for "Health & Safety" reasons I guess - so I may have to go into the public car park to allow some flexibility! [X(]

We still aim to be there early (by 10 am) to see if I can negotiate my way around this.

Weather forecast is fairly okay - 21 degrees and some light showers possible.

See you there (don't forget, it's Husborne Crawley autojumble on Saturday (23rd) morning.

(Paul, Nice engine avatar by the way!)

Mike,

I too need the flexibility of being able to leave as and when needed so although I have my tickets and a parking thingy, I will be in the Public area also..

I will be in the Public area also..

Well that makes three of us [:D]

We can't get there until after 12 as my boys are marching in the Boys Brigade tomorrow morning.
