Tachometer Not Working

The tachometer/milometer on my 1983 944 Lux has stopped clocking up the miles, the speedo and other dials work however.

I cant work out how to get the dials out of the dash, and see if a drive or something has come loose to repair it.

Does anyone know how to do this? and if so, is it a big job?
