TAG HEUER ( 964 )

New member looking for some help

I am looking to create a replica of this race car - I have always liked this photo since I first saw it a number of years ago -

However it is the only image I have ?

Does anyone out know the car? its history or do you have any images of the car you could share -

or could you refer me on to someone who may know more about this -

I have tried TAG but they have yet to reply to my emails ( after a few weeks ! )

any help maybe via the forum or email me mike@edgeglobalevents.com

thanks in advance for your help

Mike

Mika Hakkinen raced a TAG Heure liveried 964 at the Monaco supercup in 1993. As you'll see from the video below, there were slight differences to the one in your pic:

You'll also find lots of cup car pictures, including Mika's car (the VIP car) in this Rennlist thread:

Hi Mike.

I agree with Steve. Your project needs to look like the Hakkinen car. LHD, C2 , non-sunroof,Matter cage etc.

There was a car in the livery at Clastres with us a few years back - I'll look for some pics.

Many thanks for your reply - I really appreciate the effort to find me some old pictures of the car from Clastres -

My car has a sun roof but is in great nick -so looking forward to catching up at a track day and if track days go well maybe a race track in the future

best and thanks again

Mike

That image is a still from a youtube video. It's a 1990 Carrera 2 Cup being filmed on a dyno at Beek auto racing in the Netherlands.

Great call have been in touch with Beek Auto Racing and they still have the actual car in their workshop -

LS is the model year and the 30 is the no. of the cup car.

Parr did offer the TAG stickers when I enquired some time ago.

It is not the Hakkinen Cup they have just a copy. It was a Supercup version from 93 PS.

If you look on ebay/internet, you can buy a 1/43 Minichamps Mika Hakkinen Carrera Cup 964 - you can use it as a template to how the 1/1 Scale 964 will look like.
