Tailgate Operation

The latest Macan now has a 2 button operation for opening and closing the tailgate from the cabin, but did you know earlier versions with just 1 button can also remotely operate the rear tailgate too.

With the tailgate open, you simply switch on the ignition, then keep the open button on the armrest depressed and the tailgate will close remotely without having to leave the vehicle. [;)] Handy in the rain! [:)]

More helpful advice, thanks very much. How you find out about these things I'll never know. [8|]

PS. I would mark your post as helpful but, though DW's shows such a option, your doesn't.

Thanks Clive, yet another thing it does that I didn’t know about. Used it this morning - amazing how little things can give so much satisfaction!

Porsche seems to have excluded the ability to close the boot using the remote key button. I'm sure there's a good reason for this - but I can't think what it is.

Hi Clive thanks for the information on the tailgate operation.
Macan goes in on Tuesday for its second Transfer box at 46600miles!!

Hi Sue & Sid

On transfer box, is that a second replacement (ie you are about to have box number 3 fitted)?

If so, it’s a bit worrying that the design had not been modified to avoid the issue. I am at 33k and had mine replaced 5k miles ago but car is behaving a little like it was before replacement - not as severe but not sure if this is early stages because now I know what I am looking for. Either that or I am paranoid about it and imagination is creating it.

Anyone got any insight about recurrence of issue or if box was redesigned?

Thanks

Oli

This thread is about the tailgate operation, can you take your transfer box discussion to that thread please?

Will do. Sorry

on the boot opening I will need to try it as I have had cars that allowed close from inside before but when I tried it on the Macan I did not see it working. Could have been ignition was not running or something else.
