Tailgate release now working

Well today I replaced my leaking tailgate seal and upon inspection I could see where the leaks were, as various parts of the seal had gone flat.The new seal now fitted and I found that my boot release button is now releasing the tailgate again.
I was considering buying a pair of tailgate struts as I had replaced the catches previously so if you have the same problem it is worth checking your seal.
