I can't get the tailgate on my Cayenne S to open. There is normally a click when you press the "handle" but now nothing. I figure there is a microswtch under it. Does anyone have any knowledge of this or how to remove the inside trim from the tailgate?

many thanks

[:)]Had the tail gate switch checked by opc, they advised me it was not a standard fit on my 2004 Cayenne S. that why it did not work, any thoughts.

Complete lie. as all ready stated, it was a fault on pre 05 models. Switches replaced under warranty

The non working switch is next to the fuel cap switch, i have left the problem with the OPC Cardiff to investigate. Hope for a reply soon. [8|]

Only had my Cayenne a week and thought I had the same problem, but worked it out myself this afternoon. As the car auto-locks at something >5mph it allows you to unlock the hatch with the keys still in.
