Well, I'll start the ball rolling.......

1 - It is too old for a Porsche warranty, but companies like WarrantyWise do cover older models, and you can tailor the cover to suit your requirements. I have never used them myself, and like all warranty companies they get mixed reviews.

2 - At 53,000 this is a low mileage for an 11 year old car. The vast majority of 996 engine failures happen within 25,000 miles. I sold my C2 at 85k, and the current owner has now got 105k+ on the clock. I wouldn't let the mileage concern you. Nicely run in, IMHO.

3 - Do you mean 'grey' import or 'parallel' import. Big difference. A grey import might not have the Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser, etc. You will also have to declare it to your insurance company. Do you know the country code on the sticker under the luggage compartment lid? It is the first one listed in the option codes, and will start with a 'C'. C16 is UK.

thank you for your response, will look into "sticker code"
I am based in north london/herts border, is there a good indy i my neck of the urban jungle,

JAZ in Wembley or JZ Machtech in Kings Langley are the two that spring to mind. Both are a bit more pricy than your average indy, but both have a very good reputation.

Hi, with a name like Adamos, got to be greek!!! I have just told another guy about a 996 available from another Greek guy who is selling a 996!! Here are the details....

Its a C4 Cab, 1999, 116000 miles but had a new engine at 68000 which is fully documented by Porsche with receipts and new engine number in service book, Artic Silver with Metroploe leather, Hard top as well, manual, 3 owners including present one, taxed and M.O.T. Looking for £16500 ono includes a private plate.
Guys name is Akis, 02088840976, based in North London, N18. If your interested, give him a call and mention my name which is Harry. Good Luck!!

Have seen the car myself and driven it. As Richard said about engines, this one had a brand new one put in by Porsche with all the paperwork to back it up.
