Why is it that the moment the temperature drops and the weather is foul little things start to go wrong with the car ? All summer long it performed faultlessly when it was sunny and dry. Now everything seems to be packing up this week.

One of the cables operating the rear hatch has become disconnected. I cannot open the hatch. Guess where my maps are which I need for my new job ?!....

The passenger central locking has packed up so I have to remember to lock the passenger door as well as the driver door every time I leave the car which is about 20 times a day currently . Grrr.

Worst of all the belts or a pulley has started screaming . ?? I had idea which belt or pulley but I suspected it was the alternator so in desperation this morning I ran in the house and grabbed the talcum powder and sprinkled loads all over the belts and pulleys Bingo !... instant silence.

I figured that the edges of the belts and pulley wheels would have become shiny smooth and reasoned that the talc should make the belts grip a bit better and its worked all day with 60 miles of stop starting.

I'll bet the 2nd one is the plastic C/L actuator rod on your drivers door as opposed to anything wrong with the passengers door. I think the part is £1.50.

Probably an easy fix like you say but do you really want to do it in this weather Brrrrrrr . The passenger door lock will actuate open when the drivers door is unlocked ok ,its just it won't actuate closed from the drivers door.
The rear hatch key switch has packed up as well
