Hi all, just discovered my Tandem pump is leaking due to corrosion. have researched replacement cover and I can only find one manufacturer ACP @ £175, ninemeister have ceased production of their stainless steel one. Anyone any other suggestions.

Hi - short of a complete replacement pump from Porsche (Which would just have the corrosion-prone old style cover anyway) the view is that the ACP cover is the perfect long term solution.

Replace with new but prior to fitting have it protected with an aviation grade coating

In most cases the cover bears the brunt as you remarked

Waxoyl though good does not stand up to high temps

+1 ... We apply waxoyl after fitting.

Bear in mind that replacements are happening on 06/07/08 cars, so these are now nearly 10 years old. It isn't that bad. My guess is that now the cars are in the hands of enthusiasts, they are less likely to be used in all weathers so will last longer.

Well its pretty bad if you need to replace it as Porsche dont sell the cover on its own and a pump can be anything from £350-450, now it seems there is only one company making an after market part,
