Targa Pin sheath installation

I know not many Targa Turbo's here but thought i would add my experience.
I had to replace the sheaths on the rear targa roof horizontal pins which locate in the targa hoop silent blocs
What a pain they are.

I ordered 2 new sheaths P/N 911.565.217.40 from Porsche.

Tried every trick in the book to get these fitted from lube, brute force and ignorance and gentle warming. These puppies would not push all the way over the pins.
So i put each sheath in some boiling water and boiled them in the micro wave for 2 minutes. With a pair of leather gloves// grippy gloves the sheaths push straight into position in seconds.

If anyone is going to replace the sheaths miss out the normal steps and progress straight to the boiling section.
