Targa rear hatch wiper spindle is very stiff

Has any fellow Targa owners removed the rear glass wiper spindle?

Mine is difficult to move but I can't find the PET to work out how it all fits together so I can work out how to remove and clean up

I had a lot of correspondence with John Carruthers recently, who had exactly the same problem. He bought the repair kit and grommet from Porsche and after struggling trying to get the wiper shaft out took it to his local indy. This is the repair kit and a photo of inside and outside.

This is what John said:

"I took the car to OCD Porsche which is local to me. I know Chris Douras from when he worked at Tech 9. He is especially good with jobs that require a lot of care and would recommend him highly.

He attached a set of locking pliers and with a deal of muscle power, I couldn’t do it, managed to gradually get the thing moving.

Should you be asked about this again, the two very thin washers sit between the cranked plate (with spindle) and the hatch frame. the spindle fits through the frame and a metal tube which is part of the frame. The grommet that is in the glass fits around that tube and is not part of the kit. The two copper collars fit in the tube around the spindle and are perhaps best fitted from the underneath. On my car, the upper tube would not come out but cleaned up well. On the outside goes the small rubber ring which is compressed by the washer and then the sprung washer which fits in the groove on the spindle, of course. Fit the new grommet, pop the wiper back on, then the nut and cover and you’re away."

Update...I've taken the rubber dust cover off and most of the bits around the spindle have disentegrated in to a pile of grey dust.

I've tried moving the spindle and the parts below and bathed in penetrating oil. It moves a little but not enough to line up with the motor

this could be beyond my skills to sort out

The Wirral is too far as I'm in Dorset, could Northway or GT One sort this out?
