Targa roof/wheels

Gents,

Have a '96 targa that during the recent storms let in a bit of water - not sure where from though.... thnk I've narrrowed it down to passenger door seal or seal at rear of targa roof - are either of these likely?? Also, the 'bolts' around the targa rims - are they supposed to be dark? Mine are, and couple I've seen for sale too, but sure I saw one on Pistonheads that were same as the alloys...

One more thing, how do I get my status changed to member??

Cheers,

Andy

yeah the allen head screws around the rims are meant to be black. After a while they do tend to flake mind. It takes an age if like me you take the wheels off - clean them, repaint them. Think the reason why you sometimes see them in silver are because the wheels have been refurbed but havnt had the rims split with new black bolts as costs an awefull amount of money and not alot of people do them. Personally I prefer them black, makes the wheels stand out that bit more.

Suggestion possibly worth trying with the seals is perhaps rub a tiny bit of silicone grease around the rubbers to perhaps help them flex bit better to seal. My targa is generally very good, but usually when you wash it with a hose pipe lets a small bit in. After all, they are getting on abit now!!!

Sure somebody else will give better suggestions.....Enjoy the car....
