Targa Roof

Hi, I've just had the Targa roof section retrimmed on my black 911, the problem is the seals at the top of the quarter lights leak. My car was full of water this morning so I need to get it fixed ASAP. Is replacing the front targa bar seal fairly straight forward or is it a job for a professional. Thanks in advance. TJC

Yikes! if it just needed recovering I could do it for £500.00 including materials. Seriously though Tom just what is wrong with it? If it's just a recover and some cosmetic parts get youself a kit from Southbound for less then £150.00 (includes everything) and do it yourself, takes about 5 hours but wait till summer or work in a heated room.

Thha Pete, I have bought quite a lot of stuff from Sth.bound and may go that way yet! just looking for the easy (lazy) way out..Tom

When I had my 964 targa there were numerous reports of complete new roofs being £8-10K! They occasionally appear on ebay, but you can get new replacement parts. Try Southbound trimmers.

Don't know where you are but if near Bournemouth, Canford Classics restore Targa roofs:-

Hi
Douglas Valley aint got any and if they have and good nick as you say up to £1800 pounds

place southend needs the car and anything fom £8oo upwards depending on rubbers etc (guy was helpfull...cut cut off in call and could not get back to him )

non in ebay...looks like I will buy the kit.. you now get instuctions with it
Thanks

All roof restorers will need the car as there are adjustments to be made in order to make the panel fit correcty without leaks.
Good luck with the kit - attaching a bit of vinyl to a frame, how diffficult can it be...?

hi Pepe
I had mine done by a local lady for £250 inside and out,a good job and a lot cheaper than buying a kit.
