I heard it was the rev limiter in 5th [8D].

Ok seriously never heard of such a limitation, I would assumed it would be mentioned in the owners hand book.

Probably best to back off a tad when your esrs start to bleed from the wind noise. Otherwise, foot to the floor and max out, some way below the 153 mph of a coupe, due to drag - but just pray your rear window seal holds on tight to the glass!

Hope that helps.

First thing I hear about a safe speed with the roof off. I have driven numerous times in Germany hitting the rev limiter in 5th with the roof on or off- apart from whether that was a safe speed or not, it made no noticeable difference in feeling.

I have done the same in TR6's and Morgans- your hair follicles do suffer, but hey ho, the older one gets, the lesser the problem.

What I do notice is that the wind buffeting is an absolute minimum when, whilst driving open in a targa, you drop both windows "two fingers", so that is, what, 2cm?

Best regards,

Bert

I to drop the windows a wee bit ...BUT dont go over 70 mph

sad maybe but I dont want to lose my liscence[;)]
