Targa Split Rim Bolts?

chinoloco

New member
Searched back through the forums and a few tales of people getting their split rims done and new bolts put in. I'm getting mine refurbed soon, where do I get the new bolts, and how much do they cost roughly? Black or silver look better?

Either from Speedline or BBS... Jasmine got hold of some for me... I think they were about £1.50 each though. It depends on whether you need the nut on the back of some splits or the captive threaded plug on the front of others...
What are your wheels?

I'm sure there was an article on this subject in 911 & Porsche World but can't find the relevant issue I'm afraid[]. I guess you could trawl through their website.

Look great but they're a pain when they corrode.

hi ubertub, these are the standard 993 targa split rims. don't know what I need, full set of nuts and bolts i guess? some people apparently paint the old ones and put them back in, but allegedly they are prone to stress breakage so might as well put a fresh set in, as long as they're not prohibitively expensive. porsche dont' supply them anymore apparently..

chonoloco..
I'd deffo buy new... painted look shit and I'd be worried that they will be stressed a bit...

post a pick and I'll see if i can i.d. them and find some new for you. See if you can find out the original torque for them too... probs 15-17N/m ish?

hi ubertub

they're the original 17" 993 targa speedline wheels, like this:
