Am not sure i see the point of it. Admitedly, the convertible with roof up loses some of the appeal of the 911 shape, but more than makes up for it with the roof down, the operation of which takes very little time, and can be done on the move (up to 30mph).

Think of it as just another option for buyers to choose from and it will all make sense, Porsche do; modern car production processes are so well refined that this does not add any additional production or setup cost once the initially design and body parts moulds are done.

Thus, I assume, the profits are worked out on any given factory production line overall output rather than which individual model is the best seller... Same goes for the Boxster & Cayman (give it some time and you will see a 987 Targa)...
 
Yes, i'm sure you're right, and it'll probably be priced right in the middle between the C2 and Cab....
