Targa Top Repair

My 87 3.2 Targa is in very good condition, but like all or most, the Targa top is very noisy above 50mph. The top is in very good shape, I just cannot get it to seal properly at all. It seems to be leaking above the rear view mirror and almost makes the car unpleasnat to drive.
Can anyone suggest anyone know who can help with this problem? I am in Kent and my local Porsche garage (La Rose) has sugested I contact Southbound Motor Trimmers near Southampton.
The front and rear seals have been changed, still a wind tunnel!
Many thanks, Steve

I think you can adjust the catches at the front to pull it down a bit more ,I know you can adjust the seals over the windows I have done that, But just give Southbound a ring he is very helpful

Thanks Graham
I have called Souothbound and they have about a 6 weeks waiting list so they must be good! I am going to take the car to them early next week. Thanks!

...As this is my first forum post, I hae noticed that I am listed as a Non member when infact I am a PCGB member... Any idea why?

Thanks again,

Steve

We had our targa top redone by Southbound and they made an excellent job of it. The place looks a bit strange when you get there, it's an old farm. They are also probably not the cheapest place around. The guys, however, really know their stuff and I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to anyone.

If it says "Non Member" by your name, you need to confirm your Membership Number and Forum Name to Club HQ (email cluboffice@porscheclubgb.com ) This should be a one-time fix, and will also allow you access to the member-only areas of the Forum.

I recovered my 3.2 Targa myself, bought it on ebay and i think it was about £100 for the inner and outer skins.

I took it slowly and on a nice day and the result was superb, however there was still some wind buffeting. But it was better than before I started. Unfortunately, I think you just have to put up with it or take the targa top off and enjoy the fresh air.

I now have a 993 Cab and it is so much quieter at high speed.

I had my top refurbed inside and out at Southbound. I cant recommend them highly enough, however, it wont be cheap. Also, you wont eradicate the wind noise completely.
