targa top

Are you a horticulturalist? Do you mean glassfibre as here

or clear glass (which would be heavy)

If you want the all over glass look , then the 993 Targa is the one you want. A non-folding Targa was standard on the mid '70s cars for a few years but the traditional folding Targa top is IMO the one to go for. Pelican Parts have started making the non-folding variety again but only in fibreglass so you would need to paint it. If you wanted to go to the trouble of finding someone to work to a Targa top template it would be possible to make a rigid clear top, though I'm not sure how scratch resistant that would be and weight might be an issue. If you could find tough enough glass and weight wasn't a problem I guess that could be made to for a price but it would be like getting into a furnace after you left it in the sun with the top on and think of the fade it would cause on the interior upholstery. Thinking about it I bet some of this applies to the 993 Targa which I think is gorgeous.
