Targa wheel refurb completed!

I've put up with fairly scruffy targa wheels for some time despite them letting the rest of the car down. Trouble is, either wheel co's won't go near them or you need to leave the car with them or you have to courier the wheels to them. Luckily I saw a recommendation on this forum for Chris Weaver at Exel Wheels www.exelwheels.co.uk who will remove yours and fit a loan set so your car isn't off the road.

After considering all the options open to me I went for the far simpler option of having the wheels stripped and refinished without undoing any of the bolts. I also opted for the sealant treatment to make the wheels easier to clean in future. Chris then removed the wheels at my house and supplied a set of loan wheels and tyres to use while mine were away. I also asked him to supply and fit new tyres. When the wheels were finished Chris arranged a time to swap them back.

It was my personal preference to leave the bolts the same colour as the wheel, I think it is less fussy and makes the wheel look slightly bigger. Chris can paint the bolts black if you wish.

As you can see from the before/after photos, the results are superb. Chris provided a great service and is highly recommended (I have no affiliation etc etc.).

That looks like a great job. Probably ought to get mine done. Maybe I'll treat myself to that when I next get a set of tyres. How long did the process take?

Thanks John, it took about 2 weeks though that was with a bank holiday in the middle.

Regards,

David.

They look great. I've also read good things about Exel wheels. I wish I'd known about them before taking my Cup2s to a local place.
