Techart 911.2S Powerkit - pros/cons of upgrades within warranty period

CONS
If you want to use that extra power on a track day make sure the noise levels are not too great with the new exhaust.
If you have the car serviced at an OPC make sure they know the car is modified and make sure they dont download some software that puts the ECU back to standard ( That happened to me when I had a DMS upgrade on a 997 Turbo)
You will reduce the number of people who will buy the car from you come sale time so may make it a little bit more difficult to sell because at this price point the majority want the warranty. However there is a group of people that love modified cars
Porsche will hardball you on any warranty claims unless your OPC is very helpful

PROS
More power and better noise will make you smile every time you drive the car

I would have thought a 991.2S would be putting a big smile of your face already, but if you're a driving god, running the car ragged and looking for more power everywhere, by all means go for the extra grunt.

However, you've suggested elsewhere you are looking at the new GTS, in which case you would be well advised to do nothing at all to it.

Clive

Thanks both! It was more curiousity about the impact of modifications on a new car (this is my first porsche).

Clive - you are right, the current car is more than i can handle! To be honest i am more interested in some body upgrades, I have been asking Porsche about when the 991.2 aerokits are coming out but have been told nothing yet so was looking around at other options. GTS may be next but depends on any additions to our family!

Bobfair - i will keep in touch with my OPC to take their advice on any changes so will wait and see. There is already a constant smile present when driving the car :)

Shouldn't be too long, the Aerokit is already a factory option for 991.2 Turbo. There are currently a Sports Design front apron and Sports Design door mirrors available for your car, if you're wishing to personalise it a bit.

Clive
