I have just gotten off the phone to Porsche GB and they have confirmed that the TSB 145/05 has been recalled/withdrawn - they will not entertain any further queries on the TSB nor provide any info since its been pulled.
Apparently, their technical directors have flown over to Germany just yesterday for the announcement. The initial TSB was recalled because it was inconclusive and only included a list of 5 items that the technician would have to work down to resolve the issue. These items are: -
1. Screw
2. Plug
3. Seal ring
4. Spring
5. Piston
So, if you had the screw replaced but you still got the rattle, the technician would then be instructed to modify a plug and so on. From what i understand, the lingering issue was that one of the items on that list resolved it, but they didnt know which....until now.
Its the piston.
So, after the official internal announcement released this week, Porsche intend to have a new TSB by Friday 2nd December. So, i'd start to pester your OPC's from monday next week or at least make then aware of it in some cases!
I wondered what that mean under your (and others) names...
