Technical Question 997

997.1 C2S manual.
I have noticed on a few occasions a feeling of no throttle/cutting out momentarily on light acceleration. No warning lights or fault codes have come up. If I approach a junction or roundabout, in gear, and foot just on the accelerator when I go to pull away it feels as if the ignition has been turned off then on again very quickly. It doesn't do it all the time (4 times in past 2 months) Dealer can't see any fault codes but mentioned it could be drive by wire/accelerator pedal at fault. Anyone have any knowledge or experience of this? Its not traction control as it only happened on gentle acceleration.....

Bugger - Does she idle at 800 rpm - If your not happy go back and INSIST in a nice manner to rectify the fault. (pedal / wire) .
I have never had this with mine.
Certain the team leader will offer sound advice to your request

I recently had some work done on my Cayman at OPC. When I collected the car, they told me they'd seen a fault logged, relating to a misfire caused by failing coil packs. The car is 7 years old and never had them changed, so I've ordered some new ones and will fit them myself. I also get the same symptoms as you.

Take a look / listen to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqxhTqATL1A from 32seconds to 42seconds where you'll hear the misfire. No, that's not my own car! Yes, it's a Cayman, not a 997, but the principal is the same. If you're also getting those misfires, then it adds to the evidence that it might be a problem with your coil packs.

Cheers,
Bryan
